By unanimous consent, the Senate on June 3 approved legislation passed by the House last week that will liberalize rules under the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) to give business owners more time to have the loans forgiven by the U.S. government. Congress Approves $484 Billion Coronavirus Relief Package

Congress has passed a $484 billion relief measure to combat the economic fallout from the coronavirus pandemic. The legislation renews funding for two key small-business loan programs that ran out of money under the CARES Act by providing $320 billion for the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) and $60 billion for the Economic Injury Disaster Relief (EIDL) program.
