Eaton Smart Devices Earn Annual Spark Innovation Award

The NAHB Leading Suppliers Council (LSC) recently announced Eaton as the winner of the 2022 Spark Award for its latest series of wi-fi smart devices including dimmers, switches and receptacles. The annual Spark Award recognizes the most innovative LSC member who demonstrates superior knowledge and expertise in developing cutting-edge building products and services.

“In this rapidly changing market, it's always exciting to introduce new products that increase the benefits and conveniences of a smart home,” said Matt Alexander, Eaton’s vice president of marketing. “Being recognized for this award highlights the great work our teams are doing every day to make an impact in our customers’ lives.”

The enhanced capabilities of Eaton's residential lighting devices to offer ease of installation and convenient voice-enabled controls were some of the top qualities that impressed this year’s Spark Award judges.

“We partnered with Amazon to support a single mobile application log-in sequence,” Alexander said. “Because of this, our devices work seamlessly with the leading smart speaker provider’s technology – making it easy to adopt, learn and personalize.”

By integrating with Amazon, the devices provide a simplified installation and setup without the need for additional hubs. Users can easily connect them and customize their settings through the Amazon Alexa app. They can also create routines and enable voice-command options to control lighting as well as motor loads for equipment like fans, pool pumps and appliances.

Alexander said Eaton is committed to developing the most innovative products, and its partnership with Amazon is another example of how Eaton supports a growing variety of home-automation solutions. Doing so, he says, helps them meet the varying needs and preferences of home builders, remodelers and home owners in a way that adds value.

“The builders and remodelers can incorporate our smart devices into their projects and market not only to customers who are interested in these features, but also customers who may be interested in energy-efficient systems across other categories of home automation to create a simple, safe and comfortable living environment."
