Video: NAHB Chairman Updates Members on Efforts to Fight Federal Overreach

In the September Chairman’s Update, NAHB Chairman Chuck Fowke tells members about two important issues facing the industry on which NAHB is proactively engaged for our members. The CDC’s eviction moratorium and the Administration’s plan to redefine “waters of the United States” (WOTUS) will unnecessarily expand the federal government’s role in state issues. However, NAHB is already engaged with the key players on these issues and will continue to fight for our members’ interests.

Please note that, since the recording of this video, the Supreme Court ruled the CDC’s eviction moratorium extension was illegal, saying that Congress was the only body that had the authority to extend the policy, not the CDC. More resources on the eviction moratorium, including a script for multifamily members and landlords can use to help their tenants apply for assistance can be found on the Multifamily and Affordable Housing Resources for COVID-19 page on nahb.org.
