The continuous strength of the housing industry throughout the nation’s ongoing economic recovery is, in large part, a result of the resilience, talents and dedication of NAHB members. And each member has the power to continue making the Federation even stronger.

New for 2021, NAHB’s ONE in 21 campaign focuses on empowering each member to take part in the recruitment and retention process – one member at a time. ONE in 21 signifies that even just a single interaction can have a significant impact, as peer-to-peer efforts are the No. 1 most successful form of member recruitment and retention.

“Membership has always been and continues to be a top priority for NAHB and our state and local associations,” says Dianne Beaton, NAHB membership committee chair and owner of 2DiFore Marketing Solutions in Ruskin, Fla. “After a challenging 2020, the ONE in 21 campaign brings everyone together under a simple, yet extremely important mission.

“Now is the time for all of us, on every level of the Federation, to understand just how capable we are in contributing to the growth and strength of NAHB.”

This Facebook cover is one example of the readily available assets members may use to promote member recruitment in 2021.

Between January and April of this year, nearly 2,200 NAHB members have recruited at least one Builder or Associate Member, and 130 members have recruited five or more.

Both numbers represent a notable rise in member recruitment compared to last year. And the momentum should continue to grow throughout the remainder of year, with official membership drives happening all across the country this month and in the fall.

NAHB has made membership promotion even easier this year with a full suite of marketing assets including graphics, videos, flyers and a virtual meeting background. You can use these assets in your HBA communications, on your website and on social media. They are an easy way to spark conversations and create buzz around member benefits, as well as recruitment and retention efforts.

“Strengthening membership can only make all of us stronger,” says Beaton. “Together in 2021, we’ll engage, recruit and retain smarter than we ever have before.”
