He became a member of the HBA of Davidson County, N.C., in 1993 and has served in various leadership roles including president in 1998. From 2010-2013, Buddy became a special voting member to the NAHB Executive Committee and again from 2017-2019; he is Senior Life Delegate and has served on numerous committees at NAHB including Building Products Issues, Conventions & Meetings Chair 2018, Building Systems Council and State and Local Government Affairs. Buddy has a vast knowledge of the value of “three memberships in one” and will continue helping to educate our members and “soon to be members” on the Federation’s value. Buddy is an Eagle Scout and was awarded the NAHB S. A. Walters Award in 2018.

Buddy and his wife Elaine live in Lexington, N.C., and have a daughter Holli and her husband Josh with three very active grandsons.
