NAHB Commends Confirmation of Dana Wade as FHA Commissioner

Dana WadeThe Senate on July 28 voted to confirm Dana Wade as the Federal Housing Administration commissioner.

“I want to congratulate Dana Wade on her confirmation by the United States Senate to serve as the commissioner of the Federal Housing Administration,” said HUD Secretary Ben Carson. “Dana has been a tremendous asset to the department and the administration throughout her years of service, and I have full confidence in her ability to successfully lead FHA.”

NAHB Chairman Chuck Fowke also lauded Wade’s confirmation as the new FHA commissioner.

“Having served as acting FHA commissioner from July 2017 to June 2018, Dana Wade brings valuable experience to the job and understands the challenges confronting home buyers, renters and home builders stemming from the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Fowke. “NAHB looks forward to working with the new FHA commissioner to mitigate the effects of the outbreak on the housing community, ease regulatory burdens that are exacerbating the nation’s housing affordability crisis and to make homeownership and rental housing more accessible for all Americans.”
