Valuable Safety Demonstrations and Learning Sessions in the IBS Safety Zone

The presentation stage at the 2019 IBS Jobsite Safety Zone

With less than a week to go before the opening of the 2020 International Builders’ Show in Las Vegas, attendees are busy setting their schedules. Be sure to include the IBS Jobsite Safety Zone (N663) in your plans and catch a session that could save your life.

If you come by, be sure to scan your badge at the front for a chance to win free safety gear donated by 3M.

The Safety Zone has doubled in size since its very successful debut at IBS last year. Not only did attendees want more exhibits, they loved the sessions provided in 2019 and clamored for more.

This year, the Safety Zone has programming running all day, Tuesday through Thursday. Like last year, IBS 2020 attendees can “Ask the Safety Pro,” where nationally recognized construction safety experts will be available to answer tough construction safety questions. The SAFE Awards will be presented once again in the Safety Zone at 3 p.m. on Tuesday.

New for the IBS 2020 Safety Zone are safety product showcases — short demonstrations of general and specialty safety products — running 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily for the duration of IBS. In addition to the showcases, a number of specific 15-minute demos and talks are scheduled touching on a wide range of safety topics, including:

  • 4 Major Causes of Ladder Accidents, Tuesday, 11 a.m.
  • Virtual Reality (VR) Safety Training, Wednesday, 11 a.m.
  • Safety Top 5 Trends & Issues to Watch for in 2020, Wednesday, 2 p.m.
  • The ABCs of Fall Protection, Thursday, 12 p.m.

For a list of currently scheduled sessions, visit the Safety Zone page on the IBS site.

The keynote will be the Jobsite Safety Innovation Spotlight on Wednesday at 3 p.m. Mike Gerber, host of the Builders Mutual Building Progress podcast, will highlight the latest trends in job-site safety innovation.

Swing by the IBS Jobsite Safety Zone — in the North Hall near the High Performance Building Zone — while you’re in Las Vegas to learn about new products and techniques to keep you and your crew safe on the jobsite.
