Join the Professional Women in Building (PWB) Council in recognizing the amazing impact of women in the residential construction industry during Professional Women in Building Week, Sept. 16-20.

Did you know…

  • 18% of PWB members are female builders in the 55+ sector?
  • Michigan has the highest number (six) of PWB Councils in the country?
  • 85% of PWB members are female?

This year PWB Week will focus on workforce development, including daily blog posts on NAHBNow and two webinars on supporting women in construction. Here are five easy ways you can support PWB next week:

1. Read and share the daily blogs themed around topics such as mentorship, women-owned businesses and future opportunities for women.

2. Register for informative webcasts:

  • Five Solutions to Address the Workforce Shortage
    (Tuesday, Sept. 17, from 2-3 p.m. ET)
Industry experts will discuss national workforce development programs that champion diversity and inclusion from elementary to high school and beyond. Learn how joining forces with other trade organizations, local governments and friends of the industry can address labor deficits and create a talent pipeline, while enhancing the membership experience.
  • PWB from the Male Perspective: It’s more than your women’s auxiliary council
    (Thursday, Sept. 19, from 2-3 p.m. ET)
Learn how men can take a proactive approach in supporting women within the industry. Executive officers and members discuss the benefits of membership diversity and creating an inclusive culture, and examine how NAHB councils can enhance the membership experience and help develop a diverse association leadership pipeline.
