Home modifications that enable people of all ages and abilities to live safely and comfortably are swiftly becoming one of the residential remodeling industry’s most in-demand skill sets.

Get the knowledge you need to compete when you take NAHB’s three Certified Aging-in-Place (CAPS) designation courses that will be held Oct. 6-8 in Baltimore, prior to the 2018 Remodeling Show.

“The material we cover is so timely for the market because this is what clients are demanding,” says NAHB Master Instructor Vince Butler, GMR, GMB, CAPS, principal of Butler Brothers, Inc. in Clifton, Va. “Boomers are asking for CAPS even before they need it. They know what they want and are looking for someone who can execute it.”

Taking a deep dive into marketing, new products, client communication, safety, aesthetics and more, these courses help remodelers better understand how to optimize their services as well as how to guide their clients toward making the best design choices to meet their changes needs.

The courses include:

Upon successful completion, participants are eligible to apply for their CAPS designation, which helps current and prospective clients differentiate which remodelers possess the most expertise when it comes to safe and healthy living.

Each CAPS course also provides six hours of continuing education credits for these NAHB designations: CAPS, CGA, CGB, CGR, GMB, GMR, CSP, Master CSP, CMP, MIRM. Additionally, earn six continuing education credits from the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) and the American Institute for Architects (AIA).
