Winchester Homes employees and subs listened to a presentation on ladder safety at a Maryland jobsite Thursday as part of the company’s observation of the National Safety Stand-Down, which this year focused on fall prevention. “It is important to Winchester Homes that all workers know we value their safety,” said Justin Middleton, regional director of production. “Demonstrating the proper way to use equipment and personal protective equipment seems to help them retain this information.” Builders Mutual Insurance Company worked with NAHB to get the word out to members about the week-long opportunities. “Preventing injury to any of the accounts we insure is as important as protecting our own employees,” said Bill Schaffner, director of risk management. “We want to see every worker go home to their families at the end of the day.”
