chuck millerMarch is National Designation Month, which gives NAHB a chance to shine a spotlight on some outstanding building industry professionals who were named Designees of the Year for 2017 and honored in January during the 2018 International Builders’ Show.

This week we say hello to Chuck Miller, GMB, CGB, CGR, CGP, CAPS, MIRM, CMP, Master CSP, CSP, owner of Chuck Miller Consulting, Chuck Miller Education Services and Chuck Miller Wealth Network Solutions USA in Boise, Idaho, who was named 2017 Builder Designee of the Year.

Miller is a nationally recognized design-build custom home builder and remodeler. He’s been involved in the design and construction of single- and multifamily residential, commercial and institutional projects across the United States.

He’s also been a strong advocate, recruiter and volunteer leader for NAHB and his state and local HBAs for nearly three decades.

“I have always believed in lifelong learning,” said Miller. “Receiving the designations was not my primary goal. My primary goal is increasing my knowledge and becoming a better builder and business man.”

A licensed provider of NAHB education programs and an NAHB Master Instructor, Miller has earned a staggering nine NAHB professional designations and has served as a subject matter expert on a number of NAHB course revisions. In 2016, NAHB named him the Sales and Marketing/IRM Educator of the Year.

“My designations have helped me differentiate myself in the marketplace,” said Miller. “They helped me survive the downturn in the market. My MIRM designation taught me about market research and kept me from making the same mistakes that led to the failure of many of my peers when the market collapsed.”

Miller has brought NAHB’s courses to local associations that do not hold licenses, has had a number of NAHB’s courses approved for realtor continuing education credit by the Idaho Real Estate Commission, and teaches NAHB’s courses to Idaho Realtors.

Miller remains committed to sharing his knowledge and expertise with other construction industry professionals. “I believe that if more builders, remodelers, and trade contractors took advantage of the education offered by NAHB, business failure rates could be significantly reduced,” he said.

Congrats to Chuck Miller. He is a true champion of continuing education for both the building and real estate communities. He also chaired the Sales and Marketing Council for our local Building Contractors Association of South West Idaho.
