Christy BeckMarch is National Designation Month, which gives NAHB a chance to shine a spotlight on some outstanding building industry professionals who were named Designees of the Year for 2017 and honored in January during the 2018 International Builders’ Show.

This week we say hello to Christy Beck, MIRM, CSP, broker for Caruso Homes in Raleigh, N.C., who was named NAHB 2017 Sales and Marketing Designee of the Year.

Beck joined Caruso Homes in 2017, bringing with her an extensive background in new home sales, management, marketing, and training.

She’s held multiple executive leadership positions in the Raleigh area, including senior vice president and director of New Homes at Coldwell Banker Howard Perry and Walston, vice president of marketing for Bill Clark Homes, and regional vice president of sales and marketing for Sunstar Homes/Lennar Corporation.

And the award? “I was honored to have been chosen by my peers,” said Beck. “It means a lot that your peers feel you are deserving based on not only your commitment to the industry, but also your promotion of education within the industry.”

Beck never shies away from leadership positions. She’s just started her term as chair of the National Sales and Marketing Council (NSMC) and serves on the NAHB Education Committee. Locally, she serves on the board of directors for the HBA of Raleigh-Wake County.

Last year, Beck received the Bill Molster Lifetime Achievement award for her service to NAHB, NSMC and the Institute of Residential Marketing.

Beck has also been the recipient of numerous sales and marketing accolades from her HBA, including Rookie of the Year (1995), Sales Person of the Year (1999) and Silver Marketing Manager of the Year (2001). In 2012, she was named Sales Manager of the Year in The Nationals competiition.

Even with all of these achievements under her belt, Beck still manages to stay humble.

“The industry is ever changing, so you have to continue to educate yourself,” said Beck. “The designation is a great representation of the commitment to staying current and knowledgeable.”
