Please Delete ‘IBS Attendee List’ Spam Emails

Filed in IBS, Membership by on November 30, 2017 0 Comments

spamAs IBS approaches, some of our members have received email inquiries about their interest in purchasing the 2018 “NAHB International Builders’ Show’s Attendees List,” which contains, among other data, “complete mailing details” and email addresses.

These solicitations are scams and the senders do not have access to the official IBS attendance list. Neither do these senders have access to the NAHB member email list or any portion of it — which means that they have obtained NAHB member email addresses from some other non-NAHB source.

NAHB board policy governs the use of any member emails and that policy is strictly followed. Similarly, the rental of any NAHB mailing lists is handled by The Information Refinery, a bonded, third-party list company, and NAHB approves all list rentals.

The Information Refinery has not done any direct outreach to NAHB members about the IBS attendee list this year or in past years.

If you do get such a solicitation, we encourage you to mark it as spam and hit delete.
