NAHB Remodelers recently named Dan Bawden, CAPS, GMB, CGR, CGP, president and CEO of Legal Eagle Contractors in Houston, as its 2017 chairman.

“The forecasted gradual growth in residential remodeling activity in 2017 presents many opportunities for remodelers,” Bawden said. “I look forward to helping our members’ businesses thrive while protecting their interests as our industry faces the ongoing labor shortage and [other challenges].”

Throughout his 35-year remodeling career, he’s helped create educational opportunities for remodelers. He was instrumental in the development of NAHB’s Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist (CAPS) designation program, a partnership with what is now Home Innovation Research Labs and AARP, in 2002.

And during his tenure as president of the Greater Houston Builders Association, Bawden worked with NAHB to start the the Certified Graduate Remodeling (CGR) College in Houston.

He’s earned several remodeler of the year awards, as well as the 2011 CAPS Educator of the Year. He continues to teach classes to builders and remodelers across the country.

Those remodelers who would like to connect with and learn from other industry professionals are invited to join NAHB Remodelers’ Facebook Group.

Congratulations Dan….I met you in the Remodelers Council Room at the IBS. The day was when Marvin did the
    breakfast and the lunch.

At that seminar, you spoke about the CAPS being rewritten.

    Again, congratulations
