Microphones by American flagNAHB is inviting all Democratic and Republican presidential candidates to present their views on economic, foreign and domestic policy issues – including the state of the home building industry – in a forum being held during the NAHB International Builders’ Show (IBS) in Las Vegas Jan. 20.

Presented by NAHB and the National Journal, Building Opportunity: Solutions for the American Dream will take place from 5-7 p.m. at the Westgate Resort & Casino, just next door to the Las Vegas Convention Center and the IBS exhibit floor.

The event will be co-moderated by Ron Brownstein, editorial director for strategic partnerships at Atlantic Media (the parent company of the National Journal) and Jon Ralston, host of “Ralston Live” on Nevada public television stations. Each candidate will appear separately onstage to participate in a discussion with our moderators, and will answer questions from members of the audience.

With more than 100,000 builders, remodelers, exhibitors and trade contractors expected to be in Las Vegas for IBS and other Design & Construction week exhibits and events, demand for tickets is expected to be strong. If you are interested in attending the forum, you can enter a drawing for an opportunity to get your seats. The drawing opens Tuesday, Oct. 20 and will close Nov. 30.

Current IBS registrants will receive an email (to the address used for registration) Tuesday with instructions on how to enter the drawing. Anyone who registers for IBS beginning at 12:01 a.m. ET Tuesday (and before 11:59 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 30) will be able to enter the drawing when they sign up to attend the Show.

It’s important that presidential candidates understand the central role that home building and remodeling businesses play in our nation’s economic prosperity. This is our industry’s opportunity to reinforce that message. Enter the drawing today.

This is great news to have this added to IBS. It will be nice to hear what the candidates have to say about housing. With both Republicans and Democrats saying very little if anything about housing. Will be interesting to see what they say about housing and our industry.

  6. John Bollan Jr says:

What a great opportunity to put the housing industry front and center with the political candidates. Another example of what a great job the NAHB Convention & Meetings staff does to make this a great IBS.

  7. This is an awesome opportunity to show members and non-members what NAHB can do to move housing forward! Thank you to the vision our Senior Officers had in putting this together! Kudos!
