Rural Housing Program Changes Effective on Feb. 2

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s rural housing programs will be undergoing changes next month as a result of the implementation of the 2014 Farm Bill.

On Feb. 2, some areas previously classified as “rural” but with populations above 35,000 as of the 2010 census will no longer be considered a rural community. As a result, these areas will not be eligible to utilize USDA rural housing programs.
