This year marks the 70th anniversary of the Executive Officers Council (EOC). The EOC promotes the professionalism of executive officers (EOs) and staff serving the state and local associations affiliated with NAHB.

“In 2020 and beyond, the EOC will continue to give back to our communities with a commitment to our members, vision for the future and willingness to serve,” said Mike Means, EO of the Oklahoma HBA and 2019 EOC president.

The theme of the EOC anniversary year is Pathways to Success, signifying the council’s growth and learning throughout the decades.

“In more recent years, we have re-built from the aftermath of a global housing crisis, witnessed rapid-changing technology and continued to adapt to the need for acute political awareness. The EOs from our local and state associations have offered invaluable insight and knowledge to assist NAHB with these changes as our industry demands have shifted. As the EOC celebrates its 70th anniversary, NAHB recognizes the tremendous contributions of the EOC, which continues to be a guiding hand to the leaders of home builders associations across the country,” said Jerry Howard, NAHB CEO.

Through the generous support of FCA, the EOC will kick off the yearlong celebration at the NAHB 2020 International Builders’ Show, and special recognition activities are planned for the Association Management Conference in Minneapolis. As the association commemorates this historic milestone, NAHB is inviting EOs and HBAs to share favorite memories and anecdotes online via social media using the hashtag #EOC70.

If you have EOC photos to share for commemorative activities or for additional information about the anniversary, contact Caroline Fabacher.

  1. Executive Officers make a positive difference in managing a successful association!
Executive Officers like Roger Rinehart, past EO, and Cherie Talbert,, current EO, of the HBA of Metro Denver have made the association more like a family. Every member has been made to feel important – not just builders but every member and every employee of every member!
Outstanding leadership has a tremendous impact on every organization and I am fortunate to have and have had such excellent EO leadership!
