Not only is the NAHB International Builders’ Show® (IBS) the largest annual light construction show in the world, it serves as a showcase for the next generation of home builders as hundreds of young people face off in the annual NAHB Student Competition.

NAHB’s 2020 Student Competition featured 60 teams that competed during IBS 2020 in Las Vegas, Jan. 20-22. This year’s competition included 39 four-year programs, 14 associate programs and seven secondary programs. The event was generously sponsored by Beazer Homes, Clayton Properties Group, Consort Homes, DR Horton, K. Hovnanian and Toll Brothers.

  1. Jay Iverson says:

This is such an awesome series of events. If you’re not paying attention, you need to. The judges put in a crazy number of hours, as do the students. Try to witness it next year, you’ll be pleased with the direction that the youth are going to take our industry.

  2. Dean Soderbeck says:

Please get active with your local HBA on starting a NAHB Student Chapter. Students that presented their proposals last week are the BEST in the industry. Judging the competition prior to the show takes takes 2 to 3 hours per project to review but it is all worth it. These students that competed are the brightest in our industry and I look forward to next years competition. Team Coaches, keep up the great work with the students, because they are our future in this great industry.

  3. Would it be possible for NAHB to post a brief summary of what the winners did for their project?
