New Webinar: Grading Domestic and Imported Lumber

lumberRecent tariffs on Canadian lumber have increased builder interest in importing lumber from other countries. However, some of that wood might not be properly graded for structural use.

In an upcoming webinar, Making the Grade with Domestic and Imported Lumber, David E. Kretschmann, president of the American Lumber Standard Committee (ALSC), will provide an overview of the ALSC’s lumber grading process and how lumber imported from outside North America can be graded for use under U.S. building codes and standards.

The webinar will take place Wednesday, Nov. 14, from 2-3 p.m. ET.  Registration is open until 3 p.m. ET on Tuesday, Nov. 13.

The cost for council members to register is $39.95. Members may register for $44.95, while the cost for non-members is $64.95.

NAHB designees who attend will receive 1.0 hour of continuing education credit for CAPS, CGA, CGB, CGP, CGR, CMP, CSP, GMB, GMR, Master CGP, Master CSP or MIRM.
