Top Spike Focuses on Doing Business with Fellow Members

Way to bring it home for Associate Appreciation Month: Two of the Top Spikes for July are Associate members of NAHB and highlight the effectiveness of recruiting by doing business with members.

Take a look at the stellar performances of top Spikes in Region C, where LeRoy Kurtyka of Northern Plumbing Supply in Grand Forks, N.D., says, “I feel that going to different functions such as chamber of commerce events and talking to the contractors that do business with my company are easy ways to build membership.  I simply share with them NAHB goals and benefits—and what it’s done for me throughout the years.”

Luellen Smith of Rhino Wine Cellars in Issaquah, Wash., also makes sure to tell recruits about the savings available to NAHB members. “I like to emphasize that our members have access to members-only discounts and services that help us grow our business,” said Smith. “We also develop relationships with fellow members and refer business to each other. We are members doing business with members.”

These Spikes brought in the most new Builder and Associate members to our federation in July.

Region A: Emerson Clauss, Allegiance Construction & Development, LLC, Builders & Remodelers Association of Greater Boston

Region B: Reggie Holland, Holland Group Inc., Macon County HBA (North Carolina)

Region C

Region D: Terry Nesch, Alamo Stone Company, Greater Houston BA (Texas)

Region E
