Aerial shot of Portland downtown from Fremont Bridge, OregonState and local leaders will gather in Portland, Oregon, July 25-28 for NAHB’s annual Midyear Meeting. And while only members can vote at their board and committee meetings, non-committee, council and board members of NAHB are warmly invited to attend — even for just a day or two — and learn more about what our association is doing to help strengthen our members’ businesses.

The NAHB Board of Directors meeting takes place from 1-5 p.m. on Saturday, July 28, in the Oregon Convention Center, Level 2, Oregon Ballroom. We expect a series of lively discussions on the upcoming federal midterm elections and how our elected (and prospective) officials think about the issues that affect our industry — and what NAHB is doing about it.

Also of concern to so many of our members: the soaring price of framing lumber. NAHB is addressing the issue with legislators, federal agencies and the White House itself. We would like to talk about these details with you.

There are also events taking place earlier in the week. On Thursday, you can attend the annual Professional Women in Building Legislative Breakfast, or a Construction Liability and Building Materials meeting featuring a guest speaker on cyber security. You can also listen to a panel of four-state housing finance authority leaders at the meeting of the Housing Credit Group, and end up at a networking meet-and-greet sponsored by the NAHB Leading Suppliers Council — our largest trade and manufacturer members.

Before you have dinner Friday evening, network with friends and colleagues at the Directors Reception from 6-7:30 p.m. in the Atrium Ballroom, 2nd Floor Plaza Level at the Hilton Portland Downtown Hotel.

It will be a busy — and rewarding — week. You can see the full schedule here. To book a hotel near the Oregon Convention Center, visit Booking.com.
