OMB Calls for Major Overhaul of Federal Programs

side view of The White HouseThe Office of Management and Budget delivered recommendations today to consolidate Cabinet agencies and to reorganize major federal programs as part of a sweeping overhaul to streamline the government.

The proposal would affect scores of current government programs, including some directly related to housing. While the plan is far-reaching in its scope, it provides few details on how to achieve such a radical restructuring and overhaul of the current federal system.

It should be noted that most, if not all of these changes, will require congressional approval and have little chance of passing.

NAHB is always willing to work with the Trump administration and Congress to find ways to increase the efficiency of the federal government and to rein in burdensome regulations that impede the small business community. As debate continues, NAHB will remain engaged in the process.
