Stay Safe Near Power Lines

Be safe near power lines

May is National Electrical Safety Month, which means it’s time for builders to turn their attention straight up to the power lines that may be near their jobsites.

Metal extension ladders, aluminum poles for pump jack scaffolding, backhoe arms, forklift and crane booms, raised dump truck beds, concrete pumpers, and long-handled cement finishing floats all can be deadly if they come into contact with overhead power lines.

In 2016, 53% of all fatal electrical injuries occurred in the construction industry, according to the Electrical Safety Foundation International, although the figures are not broken down between residential and commercial construction. Either way, download this poster and share it with your employees and subs this month to remember these important safety tips.
