Presented by the NAHB Associate Members Committee, the Builders Engaging Associate Members (BEAM) Award went to William K. Doelker, owner of Key Homes LLC in Buckner, Ky.

The BEAM award is given to a builder member who values doing business with NAHB Associates: the trade partners, suppliers and service providers who are also members of the NAHB federation.

Considering his subcontractors to be part as his own team, Doelker said he calls on Associate members for 100% of his subcontracted work because it shows that as NAHB members, they care about contributing to the housing industry and like him, strive for outstanding quality and customer service.

The committee honored Kim Hefner-Hines of H&H Design Consultants in Wentworth, S.D., as the Bill Polley Advocate of the Year for her support of NAHB’s political action committee, BUILD-PAC. Winners are recognized for their energy, enthusiasm and ability to recruit contributors to support BUILD-PAC.

Hefner-Hines was also named NAHB Associate of the Year. This award recognizes Associate members who have distinguished themselves by their contributions to the home building industry on the local, state and national levels.

In addition to her exemplary service to BUILD-PAC, Hefner-Hines has been a national leader, serving as Associates Committee chair in 2014, leadership and recognition chair, strategic planning chair and now as BUILD-PAC vice-chair. She also served on the NAHB Membership Committee for six years and serves on the Public Affairs Committee.
