A beautifully designed yet ADA-compliant bathroom was one part of the first-floor remodel.

Lewis earned the Major Space honors for creating multi-generational living quarters for a a pair of 90-year-olds suffering from dementia. She designed an ADA-compliant floor plan for a master suite complete with a curbless shower in the bathroom, a custom wardrobe, wide hallways and a level (previously sunken) living room to help prevent falls.

The multi-functional sensory room provides a variety of leisure options for the clients’ autistic child.

Ashley was honored in the Single Space category for a multi-functional sensory room created for a child with autism. With the input from several CAPS designees and interior designers, as well as Expand Inc.’s production team and the child’s occupational therapist, Ashley created a room that is safe and interactive for both the child and his brother. The room also addresses the parents’ need for storage and can transform to a pool house, when needed. The room was also designed with the child’s future needs in mind and will convert to his living quarters when he is older.
