Ed Brady to Be Inducted into HBA of Illinois Hall of Fame

ed brady2016 NAHB Chairman Ed Brady will be inducted into the HBA of Illinois Hall of Fame at a reception tonight. President of Brady Homes Illinois in Bloomington, Brady has been active in all three levels of the NAHB Federation throughout his career.

“Ed has been a true champion of the housing industry, and we are honored to welcome him to our Hall of Fame,” said HBAI Executive Vice President Bill Ward. “He has fought tirelessly for policies that will benefit home builders, home owners and communities in Illinois and nationwide.”

Brady led the Bloomington-Normal Area HBA and HBAI before embarking on the national Senior Officer ladder. As HBAI president, he launched a quality assurance program to help increase the quality of home construction in Illinois. He also served as chairman of the HBAI legislative committee, where he steered legislation that allowed developers to choose which insurance tool to use to guarantee completion of public construction improvements.

During Brady’s tenure as NAHB chairman, he played a major role in increasing the Federation’s political clout. Under his leadership, NAHB began endorsing congressional candidates and bestowing the Defender of Housing award to lawmakers who advocate for our industry. He also developed strong, productive relationships with federal officials.

Other 2017 inductees into the HBAI Hall of Fame include Dean Graven, of Safeguard General Contracting and Legacy Homes of Illinois, Kevin Chaffin of Riverview Builders and KDC Consultants, and Mike Nagel of MAW Chicago.
