NAHB has added Seattle, Chicago and Denver to its exclusive series of maps detailing metro areas where the Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) is used to develop new affordable homes.

Using LIHTC data from HUD and demographic and housing data from the U.S. Census American Community Survey, the NAHB Economics and Housing Policy group has now created 11 maps that show the concentration of LIHTC units by Census tract, and break down each tract into various income levels: very low, low, moderate or high.

Members can use these maps to better understand the distribution of LIHTC housing in select metropolitan areas and identify where additional housing may be needed.

This resource is one of the many membership benefits for Associate and Steering Committee members of the NAHB Housing Credit Group. NAHB will update and provide additional maps to meet membership interest and demand.

To access all of the the maps, Housing Credit Group members should contact Crystal Jackson at 800-368-5242 x8207. Non-members can also contact Jackson to learn how to join.
