HUD Proposes 2018 Difficult Development Areas, Qualified Census Tracts

HUD published a Federal Register notice Monday that designates Difficult Development Areas (DDA) and Qualified Census Tracts (QCT) for 2018.

Developers use these designations to calculate the basis boost allowed under the Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) program.

HUD DDA designations are set at the ZIP code level, rather than the metropolitan statistical area. Click here to find a specific DDA or QCT.

The 2018 DDAs and QCTs are effective for LIHTC allocations made after December 31, 2017 or for bond-financed properties in which the bonds are issued and the building is placed in service after Dec. 31, 2017.
