Honoring Exemplary Service to Home Building

The recipients of NAHB’s Exemplary Service to Home Building Award were announced at the Midyear Meeting in June and are listed below, along with remarks that were delivered as they were announced.

The award recognizes individuals for outstanding and commendable accomplishments to the housing industry. They have made noteworthy contributions to housing and had a significant impact on the nation’s home building industry.

Brian Catalde
El Segundo, California
In addition to holding leadership roles at all levels of the federation, Brian served as NAHB’s president in 2007.

 

Gerald “Jerry” Kosmensky
Southgate, Michigan
Jerry is a senior life director and Statesman Spike with 776 lifetime spike credits who has been very active in NAHB at all levels for over 50 years.

 

Jean MacDonald
Austin, Texas
As a home builder and housing finance expert, Jean was so often the first woman to reach key professional milestones that she was known as the “first lady of home building” in Texas.

 

Joe Robson
Broken Arrow, Oklahoma
Joe has served the association as a local, state and national leader for decades and was NAHB chairman in 2009 at the height of the housing market crisis.

 

Ted Schlossman
Dallas
Ted served NAHB in many capacities for over 50 years and was known for his multifamily expertise, particularly in financing.

 

Wayne Stetson
Arlington, Virginia
Wayne headed NAHB’s convention and meetings department for many years and was responsible for dynamic growth in attendance, exhibit sales and revenue.
