green homeThe best green home builders are getting ready to maintain their stellar reputation — and maintain the NAHB sweep — as the Department of Energy’s Zero Energy Ready program opens up the application process for the 2017 Housing Innovation Awards.

Earning an award not only offers national distinction, it also includes a link on the Tour of Zero webpage, recognition in DOE communications and customized press release templates.

DOE reminds entrants that it is important to understand the application process and what the judges will be looking for.  In an April 27 webinar, the agency will take the audience through the application process, point out changes and offer successful strategies for winning Housing Innovation Awards and Grand Awards.

  1. I encourage every builder who reads this post to look seriously into the DOE Zero-Energy Ready program. This is how homes SHOULD be built, and will all be built in the near future. This is truly a “get on board, or get left behind” moment in the history of home building.
