Panasonic Takes Air Flow to the ‘Next Level’

The annual International Builders’ Show is one of the world’s biggest stages for manufacturers to showcase their latest products. At the 2017 IBS, a new award recognized one example of that innovation.

The Panasonic WhisperGreen Select is the recipient of the inaugural LSC Spark Award for its high level of customization.

NAHB’s Leading Suppliers Council (LSC) gave the first-ever Spark Award—honoring one LSC member for developing the most cutting-edge product or service that “takes the home building industry to the next level”—to Panasonic for its WhisperGreen Select ventilation fan.

“It’s always a thrill to be recognized as an industry leader, and maintaining that culture is something we take very seriously at Panasonic,” said Jim Shelton, VP of the company’s Eco Products Division, and who accepted the award on behalf of Panasonic at a media event held during IBS at The New American Home.

“We pride ourselves for being an innovator for indoor air quality,” Shelton said. “And from the judges’ viewpoint and from the very positive market response, we know we got it right with what we set out to accomplish.”

The Spark Award applicants were asked to show how their products were clearly distinct, adaptable and beneficial to the building industry.

“This is the only ventilation fan on the market that is truly customizable,” Shelton said. “Giving builders and contractors the ability to quickly and easily adjust air flow settings before, during and even after installation removes a significant amount of challenges and ensures peak performance.”

The Pick-A-Flow speed selector offers more than 250 configurations, and its SmartFlow technology enables the fan to automatically adjust RPMs to reach the builder’s desired air flow.

Even further customization is achieved with plug-in modules that add features such as motion sensors, humidity controls, high/low-speed timers and LED night lights.

Applications for next year’s LSC Spark Award will be accepted beginning in late summer. Visit nahb.org/sparkaward for more information, or contact Jackie Barnes at 800-368-5242 x8247.
