The Mid-Minnesota Builders Association (MMBA) knows that it will take a village to address the skilled labor shortage, so it’s wasting no time engaging local students and the media. When nine MMBA members met with high school students to talk about opportunities in the skilled trades, the local public television station tagged along to help spread the word to the entire community.
After hearing from the professionals, students were impressed with the possibility to earn a good living without going to a four-year college. Colleen Faacks, MMBA’s Executive Officer, says it’s all about “giving them options and letting them know what the industry has to offer.”
