Texas Builder Named Custom Builder of the Year

LuisLuis Jauregui, owner of Jauregui Inc. in Austin, Texas, has been honored as the Custom Home Builder of the Year by the NAHB Custom Home Builders Committee. Sponsored by Sherwin-Williams, the award was presented last week at the NAHB International Builders’ Show.

Jauregui has developed a fully integrated design-build process using a 30-member in-house team of site managers, project managers, estimators, real estate specialists, architects, landscape architects and interior designers.

Over the past three decades, Jauregui has built more than 300 luxury custom homes and 45 speculative homes, including 15 showcase homes open to the public.

Company news and images of Jauregui projects on Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, and Instagram lead quality traffic to its website. The Jauregui team recently reached a Houzz milestone, with more than 1 million of their pictures saved by Houzz viewers.

Jauregui serves on the NAHB Design Committee. In recognition of his years of service and his company’s professionalism, he was awarded the Custom Builder of the Year in 2007 by the HBA of Greater Austin, where he has been an influential leader.

“Luis co-founded our most successful specialty industry group: our Custom Builders Council,” said HBA chief executive officer Emily Lubbers. “He created a system and focus for this council that has sustained it since the early 1990s. It is still our best council and a model that other councils follow to this day.”

The council supports custom builders through targeted efforts such as custom builder training, government affairs activities and efforts to improve the custom builder market in Austin.

“The most decorated builder in the state, Luis Jauregui demonstrates excellent leadership qualities and has made a tremendous contribution to this industry by imparting to others nationwide his wisdom in customer service, design-build systems, and marketing excellence,” Lubbers said.
