NAHB honored two association leaders with its inaugural Executive Officer of the Year Award during the Meeting of the Members at the International Builders’ Show in Orlando.

Michael Dey, HBA of Greenville, South Carolina

The local HBA Executive Officer of the Year is Michael Dey, from the Home Builders Association of Greenville, S.C., and the state EO of the Year is Scott Norman, from the Texas Association of Builders.

“Association executive officers are often the unsung heroes of the NAHB Federation. They do yeoman’s work to serve our members and advance the needs of the housing industry,” said NAHB CEO Jerry Howard during the award presentation.

The award recognizes the dedication, loyalty and commitment of EOs who stand out for consistently promoting the value of membership and working tirelessly on behalf of their members and the Federation during the past year.

This award is unique, as the NAHB’s staff senior management team nominated the candidates and the Senior Officers selected the winners.

Each winner received a $1,000 check, and contributions to the National Housing Endowment/EOC Student Scholarship Fund will be made in each of their names.

Kudos to senior staff and officers for recognizing in Michael Dey what EOs have long known. Michael is an EO’s EO. Nobody is quicker to respond to a new EO’s panicked inquiry on the List Serve than Michael. His answers are always honest, insightful, and accurate. Proud to call him one ours.
