eugene grafEugene Graf IV, a home builder from Bozeman, Mont. and NAHB member, is running for Congress.

Graf is seeking the Republican Party’s nomination in an anticipated special election to replace Rep. Ryan Zinke, who was nominated by President-elect Donald Trump to be the next secretary of the interior.

In running for Montana’s lone seat in the U.S. House, Graf said in an interview with the Bozeman Daily Chronicle that he is seeking to roll back burdensome and unnecessary regulations that are hampering home building firms and other small businesses.

“It’s very discouraging when, even running my own business, it gets harder and harder to comply with all the regulations that are out there,” Graf said.

A third-generation developer and builder and owner of E.G. Construction, Graf specializes in affordable residential building.

He served as president of the Montana Building Industry Association in 2012 and has served on several key NAHB committees, including State and Local Government Affairs and Federal Government Affairs. He is the 2016 chairman of BUILD-PAC, NAHB’s political action committee and a finalist for NAHB Young Professional of the Year.
