Shower Better This Month

shower better posterWe’re sure you already knew this: October is Shower Better Month. It’s the time of year that the Environmental Protection Agency reminds consumers that shorter showers — or new showerheads — can save the average home owner about 2,900 gallons of water per year.

Remodelers can use this dripping-wet warning to talk to their clients about upgrading to WaterSense-labeled showerheads when they contemplate a bathroom remodel — or to appeal to their desire for sustainability and green building products.

“If just one in every 10 homes in the U.S. upgraded a full bathroom with WaterSense labeled fixtures, we could save about 74 billion gallons of water and $1.6 billion on our utility bills nationwide annually,” say the folks behind Shower Better Month.
