On June 13, North Dakota home builders primed the pump for home buying by gathering to witness the mayors of Dilworth, Fargo, Moorhead and West Fargo sign a proclamation designating June as Homeownership Month in each city.

There, representatives from the Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority, Habitat for Humanity of Indiana, Indiana Association of Realtors and Indiana Mortgage Bankers Association attended the event where Holcomb did the honors, presenting a proclamation signed by Gov. Pence.

These proclamations praise home builders for their contributions to the affordable homeownership opportunities available today. In addition, they recognize the opportunity to own a home as the strength of the state and the source of the spirit of civic-mindedness.

HBAs and home builders are encouraged to hold similar celebrations by using the members-only resources available in the NAHB National Homeownership Month Toolkit.
