20 Club Creates New Opportunity for Two Members

NAHB’s 20 Club program is known for the financial benefits that its membership often provides. In fact, statistics show that most club members double their net profits by their third year of membership. That’s because each club is comprised of members from non-competing markets who meet several times a year to share their wisdom and learn ways to improve operations and increase bottom lines.

So it’s not surprising that when architect Phil Kean, principal, Phil Kean Design Group in Florida, met custom builder Mark Batson, owner of North Carolina-based Tongue & Groove, at a 20 Club meeting, they created a new way to grow their businesses.

Tongue & Groove is now the exclusive builder of Kean’s WAYCOOL Homes in North Carolina. WAYCOOL Homes provides Kean’s semi-custom designs to approved builders and home owners across the country. This means that Batson’s clients will have access to Kean’s award-winning designs.

Batson is excited about the opportunities the partnership will bring.

“Phil is a talented architect. His timeless home designs, coupled with my design and build knowledge, will bring an added bonus to customers searching for a high-end, custom showcase home in coastal North Carolina,” he said.

Kean was recently selected as the architect, builder and designer of the 2017 New American Home and the 2017 Great American Remodel at the International Builders’ Show™ in Orlando. He also received NAHB’s 2013 Custom Home Builder of the Year award.

“Being a 20 Club member has afforded me many wonderful opportunities. I’ve made life-long friends and have formed incredible partnerships with builders throughout the United States,” Kean said. “Our latest partnership with Tongue & Groove will bring an all new experience to home owners in North Carolina.”

Offering unparalleled networking opportunities, the 20 Club Program is 20-member professional networking groups of builders, remodelers and other industry professionals. Members are able to exchange ideas and best practices with their peers – a dynamic often referred to among existing 20 Club members as their own personal board of directors.
