HomeAid Atlanta completes six-unit apartment building at Rainbow Village to help families in need.

HomeAid Atlanta and members of the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association have a proud tradition of giving back to their community. Rainbow Village, their latest project located in north metro Atlanta, will provide several homeless families a new lease on life.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony today celebrated the completed construction of the third apartment building this long-term transformational housing community for homeless families. The six-unit structure will add approximately 36 beds for families in need.

Each apartment at Rainbow Village includes three bedrooms, a kitchen, living room, and two bathrooms. The community embodies the phrase “it takes a village” where homeless families with children can find refuge, recover and learn to rebuild their lives with the love and support of a community-based family surrounding them.

Harcrest Homes was the lead builder on the project, and as company president Mike Smith said, the decision to participate was a no-brainer.

“This has been very rewarding to manage this special construction project,” said Smith. “As we learned more about Rainbow Village and what they were doing to help families in need to get a new start, it was extremely gratifying that we could play a role to provide a home for these deserving families.”

Founded in 2001, HomeAid Atlanta is a nonprofit organization in affiliation with the Greater Atlanta HBA. HomeAid Atlanta is the designated charity of the HBA and is a local chapter of HomeAid America, a leading national provider of transitional housing for the temporarily homeless.
