diapersTwo members of the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association are the first out of the gate today to serve as drop-off points for donations for HomeAid Atlanta’s Essentials Drive.

The drive takes place April 27-May 5 in honor of Mother’s Day, but Mast Custom Cabinets and Oneida Builders are opening their doors early to accommodate donors who want to beat the rush.

The 14th annual drive, which was created to help homeless and indigent babies and their mothers, is a community-wide effort to collect “essential” baby products. Requested donation items include diapers and training pants, baby food, infant formula, baby wipes and baby hygiene products.

Everything collected through the drive will be distributed by HomeAid to local nonprofit organizations serving homeless families and children in the metro Atlanta area. Learn more at the HomeAid Atlanta page.

If the gals have disabilities, be sure to check with your local chapter of Rebuilding Together or a university occupational therapy program to help make the home more accessible for her and her family.

Great program! Take care, Julie, O.T.
