HomeAid Atlanta announced the recipients of its ninth annual honors during the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association’s Installation and Awards Jan. 14 honoring organizations and individuals demonstrating great commitment to its mission of building new lives for homeless families and individuals through housing and community outreach.

“HomeAid Atlanta is pleased to have the opportunity to honor State Bank & Trust Company, ProBuild, and Vincent Longo for their exceptional efforts to make a difference in the lives of Atlanta’s temporarily homeless families and individuals,” said Alec Rickenbaker, HomeAid board president.

Builder of the Year. Vincent Longo of Vincent Longo Custom Builders is the Builder Captain for a major renovation project at The Drake House in Roswell. Upon completion, the Drake House will include a new Teen Center, life skills classroom, improvements for ADA compliance and an expanded food pantry. Throughout the planning and construction process, Vince has proven to be very generous with his time and resources. Vince is an active member of the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association and currently serves on its Board of Directors.

Trade Partner of the Year. Since 2008, ProBuild has made in-kind donations to many of HomeAid’s shelter projects as well as acting as a corporate sponsor. In 2014, this company generously provided in-kind donations for the construction of a new six-story apartment building at Rainbow Village in Duluth, as well as materials for The Drake House project.

Volunteer of the Year. State Bank & Trust was the largest donor to the 2014 Essentials for Young Lives Drive, HomeAid’s annual drive to collect essential baby items for mothers and children in need. Volunteers from this company held collections at seven Atlanta locations, gave generously to the drive, and continued their unique annual contest for best decorated Essentials display.

The award winners were nominated by HomeAid Atlanta’s board of directors and staff, and selected based on their service and commitment to HomeAid Atlanta and its mission.

Founded in 2001, HomeAid Atlanta is the charitable arm of the Greater Atlanta HBA.
